What are Cupping Scores?

Cupping scores are ratings given by coffee professionals to assess the quality of coffee beans. The beans undergo a rigorous evaluation process, focusing on aspects like aroma, flavour, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, and much more. The scoring scale ranges from 0 to 100, and coffees scoring 80 or above earn the honour of being tagged 'speciality' coffees - the best of the best!

Introducing Our Cupping Stars

We're beyond thrilled to share with you the cupping scores for some of our own fabulous coffees!

1. Hoity Toity - 87.5: Our top scorer, Hoity Toity, is a single origin Arabica from Congo, grown in the Kivu region. Its full-bodied, smooth flavour, laced with notes of red fruits, cinnamon, and chocolate, will make you feel like royalty with each sip.

2. Kung Fu Passanda - 84: Living up to its Kung Fu name, this blend packs a punch! Energise your day and kick-start your mornings with Kung Fu Passanda.

3. Delectable Decaf - 85: Who said decaf can't be delicious and high-quality? Our Delectable Decaf will surprise you with its rich, full-bodied taste, scoring an impressive 85 on the cupping scale.

4. Every Day Grump - 81.2: This Brazilian single origin coffee from the Sul de Minas region has earned its place with a score of 81.2. It boasts a smooth and mild flavour profile that's well balanced and lightly acidic. Savour sweet notes of chocolate, caramel, and nuttiness with every sip.

5. Juju Java - 83: Last but not least, our Juju Java high roast coffee, from the Bayukidul region of Java, scores a respectable 83. Its robust flavour profile, featuring smooth, oaky, and earthy notes, will surely please your palate.
